Review by hotel critic
I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Hilton Garden Inn Salt Lake City/Layton for a weekend convention, and let me tell you, it's a venue that effortlessly ticks many boxes. The location is splendid, nestled right next to the convention center, so no need for endless rides—our feet were happy to be spared. The cleanliness was much appreciated, and the staff radiated friendliness; I felt welcomed the moment I walked in. While the room featured all the essentials—microwave, coffee maker, and a spacious work desk—be prepared for a not-so-private experience. The walls are frustratingly thin, making it easy to hear the snoring symphony from next door, but thankfully, I had packed my trusty earplugs as a precaution. The bed was a tad firm, but after a long day, I still managed to sleep like a log. For travelers, the on-site Great American Grill is perfect for those early risers, serving breakfast daily. And let’s not overlook the lovely fireplace in the lobby, a cozy touch for a chilly evening. If you’re planning a trip with family or friends, this hotel covers all the bases for a convenient stay, just keep in mind your neighbors’ potential midnight serenades!
